About One Union Square

Welcome to One Union Square, a new vision for redevelopment that will help realize Somerville’s
long-term objective of strengthening Union Square as a neighborhood center.

With 150–200 new residential units — including 30–40 affordable homes — ground-floor retail, and a potential Somerville Public Library branch, One Union Square responds directly to Greater Boston's housing shortage while creating an inclusive destination for the surrounding community. The project will deliver over 25% at-grade open space and 15% publicly accessible civic space, with zero percent required by current zoning.
